Meet Zach:
Zach is a first-year PhD student in the Medical Genetics program at the University of British Columbia. He completed his BSc (Hons) in Biology at Queen’s University and his MSc in Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Toronto. During his MSc, Zach explored the evolutionary genetic roots of sleep and dreaming, developing a passion for interdisciplinary research in genetics, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology. Outside of the lab, Zach enjoys reading and writing science fiction, watching movies, and playing hockey.
More about his work in the Dennis Lab:
Zach’s research focuses on understanding how sleep, circadian rhythms, and genetic architecture contribute to cognitive aging, brain health, and healthy aging across the lifespan.
