Christine Chen

Meet Christine:

Christine is a second-year Master’s student in the Experimental Medicine program at the University of British Columbia. Prior to starting her Master’s degree, she completed her BSc in biology at the University of British Columbia. Christine also completed a co-op term at the Air Pollution Exposure Laboratory, where she contributed to clinical studies examining how air pollution impacts respiratory health. Outside of research, she enjoys going to the gym, going to concerts, and trying out new restaurants. She also hopes to get a cat or two one day (a ragdoll and an orange one).

More about her work in the Dennis Lab:

Christine’s research focuses on how genetic susceptibility modifies the relationship between wildfire PM2.5 exposure and respiratory and neurobehavioral outcomes in children using the CHILD (Canadian Healthy Infant Longitudinal Development) study cohort. Through her work, she hopes to advance methods in supporting the potential for precision-approaches to identifying and protecting susceptible populations from the effects of air pollution on respiratory and neurobehavioral health.
