Jasmin Lee

Meet Jasmin:

Jasmin joined the Dennis Lab as a Master’s Student in Medical Genetics in the fall of 2023. Before moving to Vancouver, Jasmin finished her BSc in Health and Disease (Human Biology) with a minor in Bioethics at the University of Toronto in 2022. During her undergraduate years, Jasmin has worked on multiple research projects identifying the role of host factors (i.e., ABO and HLA types) in COVID-19 outcomes. Outside of research, Jasmin likes hot yoga and reading. She dreams of becoming a GoodReads influencer and receiving free books.

More about her work in the Dennis Lab:

Through research, Jasmin aims to elucidate the association between HERV-K insertional polymorphisms in the host genome to COVID-19 and post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS; also known as “long COVID”) outcomes. Her project leverages high-throughput whole genome sequencing data linked to longitudinal administrative health data from the HostSeq Databank, a biobank sampling >10,000 SARS-CoV-2 positive Canadians.
